Altera Consulting Ltd is a consulting Civil and Structural Engineering practice delivering engineering design services for power and development projects across the UK.

Semeji Fawehinmi

Founder & Lead Civil Engineer

Semeji Fawehinmi is the Founder of Altera Consulting and leads the civil and structural design work across the business.
He brings over a decade of civil engineering experience in the energy and utility sector, delivering design solutions for projects ranging from low voltage connections through to 132kV infrastructure.
His work focuses heavily on grid-connection projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), primary substations, secondary substations, and associated civil infrastructure.
Semeji has been involved in the delivery of more than 1.5GW of battery storage projects, working on schemes that form part of the UK’s transition to a more resilient and sustainable energy network.
His experience extends beyond the UK.

He has also contributed to major BESS developments in Australia and Italy, gaining exposure to different engineering standards, design approaches, and construction environments.

This international project experience strengthens the technical capability within Altera Consulting and allows the company to approach projects with a broader understanding of modern energy infrastructure.
Semeji has worked on a wide range of 132kV and 275kV infrastructure projects, including complex substation developments and grid-connection schemes. His approach focuses on practical, buildable civil design that supports efficient construction and long-term operational performance.
Through Altera Consulting, he works closely with developers, ICPs, and contractors to deliver reliable civil engineering solutions for the energy sector.
